Bromeliads.co.za is a subsiduary site of kentiagrove.co.za. As bromeliad plants are one of Kentia Grove Nursery’s main lines it was decided that a site dedicated to bromeliads on their own was necessary to showcase their beauty and to show South Africans the diversity and versatility of these plants.
Owner, Craig Nicholas has been collecting bromeliads for the past 14 years. His main interest lies in propagating them from seed and offsets. Most recently he has embarked on hybridization of these magnificent plants in the hope of creating new and colourful variations to the already existing named hybrids by other breeders from around the world.
We continue to purchase plants that have been imported from the USA by a local supplier as well as buying and trading with other collectors.
We currently have over 650 varieties of bromeliads. It does however take some time to build up stock before it can be released to the local market which is why many of them are only available in limited quantities.
We believe in creating good relations with our customers by helping them to obtain the plants that they are looking for as well as offering professional service and advice. We pack and send plants all over South Africa. Our website helps bring our customers who live far away right into our nursery, allowing them to view our plants in the comfort of their own homes.
We are continually improving on our own knowledge pertaining to the plants we grow as well as trying out new propagation techniques. Our search for new and exciting plant material to bring to the local market is never ending. Growing plants is a way of life for Craig Nicholas, not just an income. It is all about pure passion for what we do..
